Hi everyone! Welcome to Color Me Frugal. I’m Dee. I am a blogger and a mom who is passionate about personal finance. I started this blog as a way to inspire and help others who may also be on a journey to debt annihilation and financial freedom!

The Name
This blog is called Color Me Frugal, and in a way this is the perfect name since frugality is something that did not always come naturally to me. We have student loan debt (in large part because we had such poor money skills when we were in school). We have a mortgage. In addition to big debt, we have big dreams. Here at Color Me Frugal we believe that big dreams are achievable! However, they often take a great deal of planning, hard work, and persistence to achieve. My hubby likes to quote his grandmother who used to say, “If it’s easy it probably isn’t worth it.” Boy have we found THAT to be true. I like to blog about things that inspire me almost as much as I like to blog about personal finance! I hope that you will find inspiration and ideas here too.
What You’ll Find Here
I am all about combining creative ways to make money with savvy ways to save it. I share what I have learned with you so you can do it too (and avoid my mistakes)! I hope to provide inspiration to those who are working hard for the money and dreaming of making a better life for themselves and their family.
What You Won’t Find Here
If you are out for the latest stock tip or looking for someone to beat you over the head until you stop spending money at Starbucks, that’s really not me. I definitely think that your wallet will like you more if you can learn to love coffee made at home (food as well for that matter!), but I’ve been known to enjoy a fancy coffee myself once in a while so I really can’t get too mad at anyone over that.

CMF’s favorite FREE money management tools!
Some of the best online tools out there for money management are at Personal Capital, and the awesome news is that they are all FREE! Cash flow tracker, 401(k) fee analyzer, investment checkup, net worth monitoring, and many more! I’m a net worth junkie, so the net worth monitor is my favorite.
