Hello everyone! Welcome to Weekly Money Roundup! Here I wrap up happenings here at Color Me Frugal during the week and share with you some of my favorite posts that I enjoyed from other sites this week. I hope you’ll enjoy! If you haven’t already, please considering Following us on Twitter or Liking us on Facebook.
My hubby and I were off work this week and drove a few hours to see some of my family. We also spent a lot of time sleeping and getting over various illnesses we managed to come down with the week prior- it’s good to feel somewhat healthy again! It has been freezing cold here but that seems to have become the norm this winter so what else is new? We are getting more and more ready for hubby’s work-sponsored trip to St. Maarten in April…
I have to send some thanks over to my blogging mentor Kathleen at Frugal Portland for allowing me to guest post on her site this week! In case you missed it, here it is. Thanks so much Kathleen- I really appreciate it!
Below are the posts we published this week:
Monday February 3- February Goals and Life Update
Wednesday February 5- Passive Income/Side Hustle Update: January 2014
Wednesday February 5- Big Dreams Plus Big Challenges Equals Starting a Blog
Here are some articles we enjoyed from other sites this week:
Matt and Mom and Dad Money writes, How to Budget Without Actually Sticking to a Budget. I like this post because the hubs and I are also “alternative budgeters” and I’m starting to think this is somewhat rare in the personal finance world. Check out Matt’s post about how he and his wife budget without a budget!
Johnny Moneyseed writes, There’s More Than One Path to a First Class Life. I love this post because he’s so right. There IS more than one path to a first class lifestyle, but the definition of that is different for everyone.
Done By Forty writes, There Ain’t No Rest For the Wicked. I like this post because it has great insight into the problem of living paycheck to paycheck, AND uses cool song lyrics as a metaphor. He also reveals how his future wife called him out on his spending before they were even married!
Holly from Club Thrifty did a guest post this week over at VOSA called Credit Card Churning for Rewards: The Rules You Must Follow. I enjoyed this post because my hubby and I are just beginning to dip our toes into the world of credit card churning and Holly outlines some important rules of the game here. Definitely check out this post if you are considering churning credit cards for rewards!
Kyle at Rather-Be-Shopping.com writes, 3 Ways to make Sure You Never get Punched in the Genitals at Walmart. Honestly, this post just cracked me up. You’ve gotta read it.
