Hello everyone! Welcome to Weekly Money Roundup! Here I wrap up happenings here at Color Me Frugal during the week and share with you some of my favorite posts that I enjoyed from other sites this week. There were some pretty awesome articles making the rounds in the personal finance blogosphere this week, so I hope you’ll enjoy! I’ve gotta say, I’ve been super proud of myself lately because I have been seriously making good on my goal of getting to the gym at least three days a week this month! As a matter of fact, I have been exceeding the goal a little bit and actually making it to the gym more like four or five days a week. Woohoo! The best part is that I actually think I am starting to get in better shape; at the beginning of the year I had a really hard time making it to classes at the gym 2-3 days a week because I was sooooo sore after one class and I was having problems like it hurt to walk for literally days after a class. This week I went to classes at the gym three days in a row on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings and my legs are a little tired but it really hasn’t bothered me at all (or at least I’m still upright and walking, which is always a good sign!) Major progress.
I felt honored to be recognized by a couple awesome bloggers this week for Women’s Power Wednesday! Thanks so much to Laurie at The Frugal Farmer and Stefanie at The Broke and Beautiful Life for giving me a shout out!
Below are the posts we published this week:
Monday March 24- How I Save Time and Money By Shopping on Amazon
Wednesday March 26- Should You or I Want to Be Self-Employed?
Thursday March 27- Be a Cowboy: Pick Yourself Up When You Fall
Here are some articles we enjoyed from other sites this week:
Mrs. PoP at Planting Our Pennies writes, If It’s Green It’s Grass… And Other Frugal Lawn Care Musings. I was very entertained by this post both because it includes an amusing story and because it offers an outside-the-box approach to lawn care that I think all of you frugalistas and frugalistos (yes I just totally made up a couple words) out there will really appreciate.
Brian at Luke1428 writes, 5 Warning Signs When Choosing a Financial Adviser. I thought this was a really good articles because Brian and his wife did their homework well and interviewed several different financial advisers when they were in the market for one. This article describes their real-life experience and includes 5 serious warning signs to be on the lookout for.
Laurie at The Frugal Farmer writes, How To Pay Off Debt: Beating the Broke Mindset. This post really rang true with me both because I have seen myself fall victim to some of the false beliefs that Laurie debunks here, but also because I have seen family members become prey to these same beliefs. This post is definitely worth checking out, especially if you have ever struggled with debt.
Michelle at Fit Is The New Poor writes, Thoughts as I Go From Full Time To Part Time. I am so happy for Michelle (and a little envious) as she takes the leap to go part-time to pursue her business and freelancing more. Go Michelle!
Kristina at DINKS Finance writes, Don’t Be a Money Moron. Kristina offers some great advice to couples who may be struggling with how to handle money issues. If you are part of a couple you may want to check this one out!
