Happy April Fool’s week! We got a big April Fool’s this week when the weather went crazy. On Monday I came home from work at 6pm and it was snowing. I found my husband grilling in the driveway (all the coolest people grill in the driveway ya know!) When I asked him what the heck possessed him to pull out the grill when it was snowing, he informed me that it had been 67 degrees when he got out the grill, and by the time he got the propane tank filled, brought it home, and cooked the food it was snowing! I wish I was kidding about that one. I’m not. As I sit at my kitchen table typing this right now it is snowing again. So much for spring! I think Mother Nature must have missed the memo or something.
Thank goodness we are headed to St. Maarten this weekend, otherwise I might have to seriously start shopping for a new place to live! Hubby has a work-sponsored trip, so we are TOTALLY headed there for a week of cheap fun (since his employer is footing the bill for his airfare and food and part of our hotel bill) and well, basically lying on the beach and drinking fruity drinks. I am not even going to pretend that there is anything else on the agenda- for me anyway! He will have to do some work stuff of course 🙂 And we’re taking along our Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard to score some killer rewards AND enjoy the benefit of no foreign transaction fees. That’s what I’m calling pretty sweet!
Below are the posts we published this week:

Wednesday April 2- April Goals and Life Update
Here are some articles we enjoyed from other sites this week:
Shannon at The Heavy Purse writes, 5 Smart Financial Moves to Make This Spring. Shannon offers some great tips for ways to keep your finances on track, as well as helpful suggestions you can use to optimize things. Check it out!
Honey at Get Rich Slowly writes, What’s the Value of Work-Life Balance? This post really spoke to me because lately the hubs and I have been having a lot of debate about this very subject- we are working our tails off at our current jobs and looking to adopt a child soon, so this is becoming a much more relevant and important consideration for us.
Mr. Money Mustache writes, The Top 4 SUVs for Growing Families. This is one of the funniest posts I’ve ever read. It totally cracked me up earlier this week- it’s definitely worth a read!
Mary at Money Crashers writes, Pros and Cons of Owning and Managing Rental Properties. Mary does an excellent job of laying out all the things you need to consider prior to diving into the world of landlordship (is that a word? My spell check doesn’t think so). If you are considering rental properties as a potential income stream in the future, this post is a great one to read.
Bre at The Weight of Debt writes, Debt Free Since 2017!!!! If you have ever been in debt or felt that burning urge to get rid of your debt ASAP, then you will appreciate Bre’s post, in which she lays out their plan to become debt free in three years. Truly an inspiration!
